"I Pledge" 2008

The first 100 days, after graduation are typically the most deadly for teenagers in America. Active Balanced Community visited Dundee High School in Monroe county Michigan to ask all senior class members to pledge to drive safe and responsibly this year.

The students gathered for graduation practice.

A video played showing the students and how much they have accomplished in their senior year.

Linda McCormick (with the microphone) from Holcim explained to the students that responsible driving saves their lives as well as the lives of those around them. Responsible driving isn't just avoiding getting behind the wheel if they are intoxicated, it also means not using the cell phone while they are driving, not texting and paying attention to the road at all times.

Active Balanced community asked each student to sign a pledge to drive safe and responsibly.

As an incentive, Active Balanced Community offered 2 $20 gas cards in a drawing for kids who pledged.

Students lined up to sign the pledge.
