The Communications Committee
In June the Civic Engagement Subcommittee merged with the Communication Committee adding the following responsibility – increase the opportunity and access for civic engagement. Goals for this are to create a countywide youth council and a community conferencing center.
The Communication/Outreach Committee will be responsible for developing a communication process for the Initiative. They will provide support to the other committees and the development co-coordinators relative to information to take the project activities and their results to the media and the community at large.
This group will be responsible for the website updates and maintenance and any graphic designations for letterhead or other publication. They will support the development of brochures, newsletters, speakers bureau information and other educational materials to support plan implementation. They will advise the committees as to information that is appropriate for public release. This group will work with the Steering Committee and other committees to develop appropriate channels for information flow and help design and conduct community events for new or existing Initiative activities.
It is the responsibility of this committee to provide ongoing information on plan progress for public through reports/publications – establishing the format and content for such documents.
