Michigan Adult Benefit Wavier Program Open Enrollment
The Monroe County Health Plan has announced that the State of Michigan has established an Open Enrollment for those individuals eligible for coverage under their Adult Benefit Waiver Program. This open enrollment will continue from October 1 through November 30, 2010.
The Adult Benefit Waiver program provides basic health coverage for those who qualify. Monroe County residents may be eligible for the Adult Benefit Wavier Program and are encouraged to apply at the Monroe County Department of Human Services between October 1 and November 30. There are a number of eligibility criteria; generally speaking, eligibility is based on living arrangement, income and lack of any other medical benefits. Monthly income limit for an individual is $316.00, $425.00 for an individual and spouse.
Monroe County Health Plan (MCHP) is a non-profit, 501 (c) 3, formed in 2005 through the efforts of the United Way of Monroe County, Mercy Memorial Hospital System, Family Medical Center of Michigan, Monroe County Health Department, Michigan Department of Human Services, Monroe Community Mental Health and Monroe County Chamber of Commerce.
Contact the Michigan Department of Human Services in Monroe County at 734-243-7200 for more information or to make application.
The Monroe County DHS is located at 903 S. Telegraph -- Suite A in Monroe.
Please be aware that applicants should apply on or after October 1, 2010 as an application filed earlier would result in denial and necessitate a new application.
